Award a Credly Certificate

To begin, you’ll need an account with Credly, Freshworks, Freshchat, Calendly, and Zoom.

1. LIVE CHAT OR SCHEDULING. Learners will use the live chat (Freshchat) or email support@religionandpubliclife.org (Freshworks) to express their request to receive their certificate. Invite them to a Zoom meeting immediately or ask them to schedule an appointment using your Calendly account. Instruct them: “Please bring your LinkedIn password and email associated with the LinkedIn account."

2. DRAFT CERTIFICATE REPORT. Create a ticket in FreshDesk and use the “Awarding a Certificate” canned response just before the call to create a certificate report. Confirm that the learner completed the course (see this handbook article) and, if needed, verify live attendance (see either Summit Club or INTF LIVE). Ask the learner, “What worked for you and what didn’t work for you about the course?” Summarize their response in the learner report. Then ask them to log into their LinkedIn account.

3. ISSUE CREDLY BADGE. Sign into your Credly staff account, choose the certificate, and click “Issue.” Share your screen with the learner and ask them whether you spelled their name and email address correctly. If so, do not include an expiration date and press “Issue.” Ask the learner to open the email and press “claim their badge.” Ask the learner to create a Credly account, confirm their email, and press the “Accept” certificate.

4. SYNC WITH LINKEDIN. Ask the learner to click the LinkedIn icon and authorize the syncing of Credibly with their LinkedIn account—they will need to know their LinkedIn password. Once synced, ask the learner to type the certifying organization (e.g., “Interfaith America”) and press save. Ask them to scroll down their LinkedIn profile to the section “Licenses and Certificates,” click “View Certificate,” and click “Verify” to illustrate how viewers of their profile can verify they received the certificate. Congratulate them, tell them about upcoming programs, and express gratitude for being in community with them. Then finalize the certificate report in the Freshworks ticket.
