Mutual Understanding
To understand another’s perspective is to accurately interpret their views, intentions, and to empathetically comprehend another’s standpoint. This course requires that every student seek mutual understanding of one another and of the ideas presented in the literature.
It must be made clear, however, that understanding need not imply agreement. You do not need to agree with someone to understand them. Seeking mutual understanding is the responsibility of every person in this course.
